Why “Finding Jesus”?
Chinese New Year is a time when we gather around tables, visit family and friends,
and give ang paos as a simple way of sharing blessings.
We wondered:
Could an ang pao also be a way to share a story?
That question became the starting point for the "Finding Jesus" ang pao design.
Every year we take a different set of stories from the life of Jesus and turn them into designs that are playful, meaningful and made to spark curiosity.
You might recognise a familiar scene.
You might spot something you didn’t notice at first.
And hopefully, you'll learn more about Jesus.

About ChezHemdi
"Finding Jesus" ang pao is designed by Hemdi Umanee and Peter Hui, a husband-and-wife team in Singapore. Hemdi paints, Peter draws the ang pao designs, and together they run ChezHemdi, a small faith-and-watercolour business that started in 2022.
Every Chinese New Year, we create a new Finding Jesus design with a different set of stories from the Bible hidden inside for you to find. It started small, and four years in it's grown into more than 100 postcard designs and nine stockists around Singapore.
